Anti Corruption Policy

A crucial part of Eaton’s overall ethics and compliance program is its multi-faceted anticorruption strategy.  The first principle in our Code of Ethics emphasizes that acting with integrity means that we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in every situation and that by doing business right, we reinforce our reputation as a highly ethical company and ensure compliance with applicable law.

Eaton’s strict prohibition against corruption is embodied in our Anticorruption Policy, which is available in multiple languages. Our Anticorruption Policy strictly prohibit bribes, kickbacks and other corrupt payments. These prohibitions apply to both the public (government) and private (commercial) sectors—corruption is wrong no matter who is involved. The policy requires that Eaton, its third-party representatives and other business partners, comply with all applicable anticorruption laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), U.K. Bribery Act and similar laws. The policy also sets forth expectations for maintaining accurate books and records, employee reporting obligations and the potential consequences of noncompliance.

Finally, the policy makes clear that employees will not be penalized or retaliated against for any delay, loss of business or other impacts resulting from their refusal to violate the policy or otherwise engage in corrupt practices or for reporting such practices.
